The nipple provides a male connection, if female connection required simply remove the nipple.
A foot valve incorperates a strainer and an non return valve. The strainer prevents large debris from being sucked into the suction line and potentally damagind the pump. The non return valve prevents water from back flowing down a suction line, allowing the pump to maintain prime.
Heavy duty brass construction with removable strainer for clearing and cleaning.
Note this foot valve is not designed to seal completely, and may release water at a slow trickle over time, especially if pumping dirty water.
