This pump is designed for drainage applications. Suitable for clean or slightly dirty water, it can be used for stormwater, surface run-off and ground water.
Submersible - designed to be submerged in the water, and includes a 10m long power lead.
Auto operation - this pump includes a float switch that allows the pump to operate automatically, and protects the pump from running dry. When the pump is submerged and the float switch is in the UP position, the pump will run. Once the water level has dropped, and the float switch is in the DOWN position, the pump will switch off. If you wish to use this pump with manual operation, this can be achieved by using cable ties to secure the float switch in the UP position. This means once powered on the pump will run until powered off - do not allow the pump to run dry as this will cause the pump to overheat and will damage the pump.
For any application with permanent installation, a non-return valve must be fitted on the discharge pipework as close as possible to the pump.
Please be aware that the water discharge flow rate provided by a pump is affected by a range of factors, especially the pipe work size and configuration. For any application where pump failure may lead damage to buildings or assets, a qualified hydraulic engineer should be engaged to identify the required pump duty, and a pump system with a pump failure alarm should be used.
